What do you get your mom for Mother’s Day? It can be hard to find the perfect gift for her. Fortunately, this blog post is full of great ideas that will make it easy to send her a thoughtful present she’ll love!

*Tips for finding the perfect Mother’s Day gift:

– Does she prefer store bought or homemade gifts?

– Is she someone who would enjoy a day filled with flowers, breakfast in bed, and spa treatments? Or would her favorite thing be to have you home from school at lunchtime so that you can spend time together making dinner after not having seen each other all morning while both of you were busy with your own activities. Maybe she’d like to stay up late on Saturday night watching old movies on television as a family. Whatever it is, make sure to do your research before purchasing anything!

– Mugs. Send mom a coffee mug that says something special about her! These are perfect for moms who love to drink caffeine like me or tea, as well as those who aren’t morning people and need extra help getting up in the mornings

– Necklace. A necklace is one of the most popular Mother’s Day gifts out there—you can never go wrong with this option! There are plenty of cute necklaces online from personalized ones you can order yourself (like these) to on trend pieces she’ll love wearing every day. The best part? You don’t have to worry about finding just “the one.” My favorite place to shop for jewelry is Francesca’s because they always have trendy pieces at a reasonable price.

– Watch. A watch is one of those gifts that’s super practical, but also makes for an awesome gift because it can be worn year round! One way to get around the boring leather band look? Find her a sturdy piece with cool detail like this one I found from Michael Kors. It would make an excellent Mother’s Day present and there are lots of styles out there so you’re bound to find something she loves (I couldn’t resist getting myself one too).

– Flowers. If your mom still lives in the area, flowers might be my go-to option—especially if they’re on sale! Stop by Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods early enough and you’re likely to score some for just a few bucks.

– Wine and Cheese. If I’m in the mood to splurge, this is my go-to Mother’s Day gift! My mom loves wine so much that it makes for an awesome present—especially if you find something she likes but doesn’t already have (my favorite place to do this is Trader Joe’s). The bonus? You can get some cheese too as well making it easy to put together a nice little package of goodies.

– Tickets. Buying tickets for events or concerts your mother would like are always great gifts because they give her something memorable and fun which makes them more than worth the price tag! Just be sure not to wait until last minute when prices might skyrocket; buy early enough to get the best prices on tickets.

– Blanket or Throw. I once received a blanket for Mother’s Day and it was one of my favorite gifts ever! My mom loves to relax at home, so a cozy throw is perfect for her even if she already has plenty of blankets in her house; this way she’ll have another that she can pull out when its time to wind down with Netflix (I know from experience!).

– Picture Frame. A personalized picture frame will always be appreciated by any mother because they allow them to display their family photos in style without going broke buying one themselves. Plus you could do something extra creative like framing an old photo together or adding a personal touch like including some flowers!

– Photo Albums/Framing. If your mom is into scrapbooking or picture albums, then you’ll know that these items can get really expensive and grow out of date quickly! Consider this instead: some new photo albums with pretty dividers to give her a fresh start, along with some frames for those special memories she wants to keep in style.

– Spa Day. One year I received spa day gift certificates as a Mother’s Day present from my daughters and it was one of the best gifts I’ve ever got; though at first I thought they were crazy because how can anyone relax during their own time? They said “Moms deserve an hour or two on themselves each week” – so we went together and had lunch too while we enjoyed our beauty treatments.

– Jewelry. I don’t know about you, but jewelry is one of my favorite Mother’s Day gifts! A beautiful necklace or bracelet that matches her style – she’ll treasure it for years to come.

– Lingerie and Clothing Items. If your mom enjoys a nice night out on the town (or even lounging around with her friends), then this gift will have her feeling so pretty! Get something like a lovely blouse from Macy’s, an evening dress from Nordstrom or Victoria Secret’s lingerie section. You can also get some new pajamas and slippers if she likes to relax at home after work each day.

– Handmade items such as a personalized picture frame or decorative wall art will show her that you put some thought into this gift! You can also do something like buy her favorite flowers and plant them in the ground for her to enjoy all year long, too.

– Address Book. Write all of her favorite memories and moments in this book with lots of pictures for a lasting keepsake that she can look back on over the years. You could also do something like write down some words to one of her favorite songs or poems as well!

Photo Albums. If your mom likes taking pictures, then you’ll be sure to have the perfect Mother’s Day gift here! Get together some old photos from when you were growing up and make an album just for her – it will show how much you love and appreciate everything she does for you every day.

Cooking Recipe Cards/Kitchen Items: Your mom has probably been preparing meals for most of your life – now it’s time to return the favor! Get her a recipe card box or give her some cooking tools she’ll love like new pots and pans.

Gift Card: Gift cards are always nice to have in case your mom is looking for a chance to get out of the house on Mother’s Day, but if you know that she has certain stores that she loves going into then getting her one there will make it even more special and thoughtful.

Coupon Book/Family Coupons: Give coupons for things your family does together – from movie night weekends to dinner nights at home, anything goes with this gift idea! You could also be creative here by designing something yourself.

Candles: Who doesn’t want their living room smelling amazing? Candles are great because they are a gift that last for years and make the room smell amazing!

Cooking Tools: If your mom is into cooking up delicious dishes then she’ll love getting new pots and pans or even some tools like measuring spoons or cupcake wrappers.

Recipe Card Box: This one would be perfect if you want to do something more than just cook with your mom on Mother’s Day – get her this recipe card box so she can record all of her favorite meals in it, give copies out as gifts, etc.

Flowers: Flowers are another great way to show someone how much you care about them without having to spend a ton of money. You might not know what flowers your mother loves best but there will probably be a variety of different ones that she’ll be happy to get.
