I’m the kind of person who always takes pictures, and this is a good reason to do so. I’ve always been curious about what it would be like to be the master of my own world. But I thought I was just some random person. Now I know I’m not. And that’s what this blog is all about.
The last time I was in India, it was in the summer of 2007 and I was in Bangalore just taking a quick stroll. But I was on my way back to Mumbai when I happened to see the Krishna Temple which was situated on the way back to the airport. I decided to stop and take a look, and found myself in a small shrine area where a priest was giving a short course in all the various sects of Hinduism.
The priest was making the rounds of the various temples, and I noticed a small picture of Krishna in the corner of one of the pillars. I thought, “This is it, he is going to be my guru!” But then I also noticed the picture was of a rather young Krishna at a very young age. I thought “I guess I’ll just have to go back and see for myself,” and so I did.
A lot of websites that advertise themselves as “gurus” do it because they want to be able to charge money for a service. This is what happened to Krishna, and how he came to be a guru. Krishna’s father, Radha, lived in Udaipur, India, and his father was very religious, so his son was quite devout. The father was very strict, and the son tried to show him how much he loved his religion.
Krishna was extremely religious, and he also had a very devoted wife, Radha. But Krishna’s mother remarried and had two daughters, and their father did not like that and told Krishna to leave his mother’s home and work for his father. Krishna was a very skilled tailor and wanted to become a priest, and so he left his mother’s home to work for his father.
Krishna was a very religious guy, and for a long time he considered death his ultimate goal, but after his mother remarried, he decided that he would rather die than be without his wife. Thus he went to the ocean to meet God in the form of Keshava (god Krishna), then he was told to go to the village for his brother. Keshava was a very religious man, and he told Krishna to go to a temple and pray and then he would be saved.
Now Krishna was a very religious man, and he did go to the temple, he prayed and he was saved. But it was a long ways from there to the village where his brother was.

We think that a lot of the time, we can be the god of our own personal music, or of our own personal relationship. But sometimes, we can be the god of our own personal religion. We can be the god of our own personal religion without being religious to it.
