The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
The issue is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us.

The thing is that we as a society are not even aware that we’re on autopilot. All of us are, we just think we’re not (or can’t be), and we’re the ones who are really causing problems, which is why it’s so important to stop acting like we are.

I think some people think that the only way to stop acting like they are are to stop acting like what they are. I think it is a very dangerous thing to do.
When you are on autopilot, you are not doing anything at all, unless you have some idea where the autopilot is. You have to be able to do things that you are not doing to prevent something from happening. It’s like a blind man in a blind man’s house.
In other words, you don’t have to make a conscious decision to do something, you have to just do it. A lot of people (including me) think that because they are on autopilot, they have no control over their behavior. That’s a very dangerous thing to do, because if you don’t have control over your behavior, then you can’t be sure that you are in control of what is happening.
We all start out with the feeling that we can do anything. But when we stop to think about it, we find that there are some things that we arent even capable of doing. And that if we stop to think about it, we know that these behaviors are not our own. We are just pretending to be something we are not.
This is a very important concept for our society and society as a whole. Self-awareness is one of the most powerful psychological tools that we have access to. You are not stupid. You are not helpless. You have power. Use it wisely.
